Oxygen is needed by all living beings as it is the one component of air that carries out the process of respiration. There are several desiccants available in the markets that keep harmful oxygen at bay. These are available in the form of packs and stripes. By usage of these materials, putrefaction of food stuffs can be checked and preservation is achieved without use of expensive methods like gas flushing and vacuum sealing. In this way, manufacturers can save millions of dollars worth food stuff that would otherwise require costly preservation that often involves preservatives and expensive treatment.
